The Spare Parts Manager will oversee the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of spare parts within our organization. This role is vital in ensuring that all necessary components are available to support operational efficiency and minimize equipment downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, with a focus on spare parts logistics in an international setting.
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement and inventory of spare parts to ensure availability and minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement strategies for efficient spare parts management and inventory control.
- Analyze spare parts usage and forecast future needs based on historical data and trends.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to identify spare parts requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing for spare parts procurement.
- Conduct regular audits of spare parts inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Prepare reports on spare parts usage, inventory levels, and procurement activities for management review.
- Train and mentor staff on spare parts management best practices and inventory systems.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in spare parts management or inventory control, preferably in an international context.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Knowledge of spare parts sourcing, procurement processes, and supplier management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records.
