Job Title: Cashew Procurement Manager

Location: Burkina Faso Africa

Salary : 2000 USD per month

Job Summary:

The Cashew Procurement Manager will oversee the purchasing and sourcing of high-quality cashew nuts from local and international suppliers. This role is critical to ensuring a steady supply of cashews that meet the company’s quality standards while maintaining cost-efficiency. The Procurement Manager will build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and manage inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supplier Management:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and growers of cashew nuts.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
• Conduct regular supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with quality and sustainability standards.

1. Procurement Strategy:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the cost-effective acquisition of high-quality cashews.
• Monitor market trends and stay updated on industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Manage the procurement budget and optimize costs without compromising quality.

1. Contract Negotiation:

• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Ensure contracts comply with legal and company requirements.
• Resolve any disputes or issues that arise with suppliers promptly and effectively.

1. Quality Control:

• Work closely with the quality control team to establish and maintain product quality standards.
• Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure the consistency of cashew quality.
• Address any quality issues with suppliers and implement corrective actions as needed.

1. Inventory Management:

• Collaborate with the inventory management team to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent shortages or excess stock.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and storage of cashews.

1. Compliance and Sustainability:

• Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
• Promote sustainable sourcing practices and support initiatives to enhance sustainability in the supply chain.
• Stay informed about ethical sourcing standards and implement best practices in procurement operations.

1. Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Analyze procurement data and generate reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and market trends.
• Use data insights to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the food or agricultural industry.
• Strong knowledge of cashew nut sourcing and the global cashew market.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
• Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes in the food industry.

Working Conditions:

• This position may require occasional travel to supplier locations and trade shows.
• Work is typically performed in an office environment, with occasional visits to warehouses and production facilities.
