Position Title: Senior HVAC Project Manager
Department: HVAC Division

Location: Democratic Republic of Congo (with travel to project sites across DRC)

- Role Summary
The Senior HVAC Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful completion of large-scale HVAC projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. This role requires technical expertise, project management skills, leadership capability, and strong coordination with clients, consultants, suppliers, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Projects may include airports, high-rise buildings, real estate developments, banks, retail facilities, and public institutions. - Key Responsibilities
A. Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end execution of HVAC projects — from initiation and design review to installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site teams to ensure smooth progress and compliance with timelines.
- Review AutoCAD and Revit drawings, BOQs, and technical documentation before approval.
- Oversee site work execution and ensure adherence to approved drawings, standards, and safety practices.
B. Team Management & Supervision - Supervise and mentor project engineers, supervisors, and technicians across multiple sites.
- Allocate manpower, monitor productivity, and ensure effective task delegation.
- Conduct daily and weekly progress meetings to align targets and deliverables.
C. Client, Consultant & Vendor Coordination - Serve as the main point of contact for clients and consultants for all HVAC-related technical and commercial discussions.
- Liaise with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for installation and commissioning activities.
D. Quality, Safety & Compliance - Ensure all works comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local HVAC standards.
- Enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) compliance on-site.
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and quality checklists.
- Conduct inspections and quality audits at key project milestones.
E. Cost Control & Reporting - Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost-control measures.
- Track project progress against schedule and financial milestones.
- Identify potential risks or delays and propose corrective actions.
- Submit weekly and monthly progress reports to management and clients.
F. Testing, Commissioning & Handover - Supervise system testing, balancing, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare documentation for client handover, including O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and test certificates.
- Ensure client satisfaction and smooth transition to the maintenance team.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Engineering.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in HVAC project execution, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership or project management role.
- Proven experience with VRF/VRV, ducted systems, chilled water plants, and ventilation systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project (or Primavera), and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of HVAC codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA).
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English; French proficiency is preferred.
